Global warming is here …I feel it

  • Snow was not at the rendez vous this year during Christmas
  • Temperature are hovering around the zero degree (15 degrees higher than normal)
  • People are jogging and golfing on New Year’s Eve
  • Summer was the hottest on record
  • Smog advisories were the longest
  • It was the rainiest and the windiest season in the West Coast
  • Storms are more and more violent, with wind gusts topping 100km for the average storm, prolonged heavy rainfall that causes widespread damage and extended lightening flashes.
Inundations are more common, extended and dangerous
  • Many ski seasons cancelled in Europe due to closures, the only few left active are those sitting around 3000 meters and above
  • Ski runs in Canada lost 2 months of business, especially the snow-mobile industry, because there was no snow at all.
  • Million year old glaciers are melting, but at a faster pace, predicting their disappearance by 2030.
  • Ice shelves breaking away from the poles more frequently, drifting out to the open seas and melting at a rapid pace (today, a large 15km wide piece broke away from northern Canada)
  • Flooding in the low laying areas is now daily fact in Bangladesh and Indonesia.
  • And i can add 100s of other events....

How are you going to feel this ? (if you're not already)

  • First, shortage of water will drive the cost of water 10 folds, triggering massive rationing or probably wars
  • Second, agricultural lands will shrink due to shortage of water & an un-predictable weather pattern combined with the advance of the desert will put tremendous stress on the food supply chain, cause prices of basic produce to increase, hundred fold, putting a normal family at risk of famine, or bankruptcy.
    And many more…

Honestly, I was thinking that I may miss this foresable and upcoming calamity…but I guess Global Warming is coming so fast that I may see the effects after all.

So my advice to you, think about yourself, your kid, your country, the world and the planet as a whole. Adjust your habit now…Turn off that light that you don’t use, walk instead of burning diesel fuel, exercise instead of watching TV like a couch potatoe, and turn off the tap while you shave. It starts with you.

Make it a 2007 resolution…Please !!!
